About mouver

Since 2020 we have been developing technology and methods for robust mobility data – working for you with decentralised teams, close to your projects.

Mobility data experts

mouver (mobilität und verkehr) helps cities, mobility agencies and transport planners understand how people and vehicles move – and turn that into the insights they need for their tasks and projects.

Our team combines academic rigour with practical, client-focused work. Our experience covers a wide range of project types, transport modes, applications and technologies.

From research to practice

Many of the methods we use today originated in research at the Institute of Transportation and Urban Engineering at TU Braunschweig. Our mission is to bring proven methods and tools into the everyday practice of public authorities and transport planners.

Our story

mouver was founded at the end of 2020, and the first contract followed in March 2021. From the start we developed our camera technology ourselves – right down to the patented magnetic bracket that lets one person mount a camera from the ground, without road closures.

Today we carry out traffic surveys for municipalities, road network operators, associations and engineering firms in Germany and across Central and Northern Europe.

How we work

In-house technology

We develop cameras, mounting and analysis ourselves – and do not sell them to other counting providers.

Engineering know-how

Project management by experienced traffic engineers who know what your data are needed for.

Decentralised and on site

Decentralised field teams – close to your count locations.

Management

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Bernhard Friedrich

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Bernhard Friedrich

Managing Director

Co-founder and, until 2017, managing director of TRANSVER Verkehrsplanung und Beratung GmbH, which brought new methods and models into traffic planning and control practice. From 2000 to 2007 he headed the Institute for Transport Economics, Road Engineering and Urban Planning at the University of Hannover, and since 2007 the Institute of Transportation and Urban Engineering at TU Braunschweig. His focus is on new methods for data acquisition, fusion and processing; in professional bodies he helps bring research findings into practice and standards.
